Full-Time Senior PHP Developer – Forecasting Systems (relocation package)
About the job
StormGeo is looking for senior developers to take care of our weather forecasting systems. As part of this group, you will:
- Design and develop new functionality in our systems to configure, process and deliver weather forecasts
- Work on specialized solutions to help our global 24/7 forecasting teams do their job faster and better
- Take part in projects to migrate, unify and upgrade or replace systems
- Maintain and improve existing systems
You will be based in Bergen, Norway. Working from Oslo is an option.
Who you are
You have around 5 years of experience in web and API development in PHP. You also have experience in SQL database design and usage. Experience in various development frameworks, including front-end development, is a plus.
You should have an engineering degree, similar education, or matching work experience.
It would be great if you also have experience building, deploying, and running applications on-premises or in the cloud. The team supports a continuous 24/7 forecasting operation with large data volumes going through the systems. Experience with CI/CD tools, automated testing, Docker, and Ubuntu would also help.
You need excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills to succeed in this role. We would also appreciate it if you challenged us and wanted to improve our current practices. In this role, there are rich opportunities to shape the future of our weather forecasting systems.
You will collaborate and communicate with team members, product owners and other stakeholders in an international and distributed team. Professional fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Norwegian is only a plus.
